Aside from books, Tobias also writes for magazines like Time, Parade, and New York. He cohosted Beyond Wall Street, a PBS series. He is a graduate of Harvard College and received his Masters of Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School. He mainly writes about investment, insurance, and politics, among others. Tobias currently serves as a treasurer for the Democratic National Committee.
